Nutrition Philosophy

I have been a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist for 20 years and have had a variety of nutrition positions in my career, including retail nutrition, research, kitchen management, outpatient, and inpatient nutrition.

I am realistic and always strive to meet a client where they are. I believe it's important to collaborate when making plans and identifying specific, measurable goals. I value scientific research and base my nutrition recommendations on current standards. I am always willing to work within a client's lifestyle and values.

I have experience and confidence working with the following conditions: diabetes or prediabetes, Help gaining weight, Help losing weight, Vegan/vegetarian diets, Gestational diabetes, High blood pressure, Heart health, Women's health, Gut health, Healthy aging, Pediatric nutrition, Pre and postnatal nutrition, High cholesterol, General health.

My approaches include functional medicine, intuitive eating, meal planning, and weight-neutral behavior change.

Lactation Support

I have been providing lactation support in the outpatient setting in-person and via video since 2020. I always base my sessions around the goals of the parent and value their experience and intuition. I am here to support parents during this time, offer advice based on the current scientific consensus, and help parents sort through conflicting recommendations they may have been exposed to.

I have experience and confidence working with the following concerns: low supply, difficulty latching, difficulty positioning, feeding pain, slow-to-gain babies, combo feeding, exclusive pumping, back-to-work, multiples, bottle feeding.
